Viktor & Rolf is a Dutch luxury fashion house founded in 1993 by avant-garde designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren. The duo met while studying at the Arnhem Academy of Art and Design and launched their first haute couture collection in 1998. They entered the fragrance market in 2005 with the release of Flowerbomb, which became an instant global success and remains their most iconic perfume.

Flowerbomb, created in collaboration with IFF perfumers, is an oriental floral fragrance featuring notes of tea, bergamot, sambac jasmine, freesia, centifolia rose and patchouli. Its distinctive grenade-shaped bottle reflects the brand’s avant-garde aesthetic. The fragrance has spawned numerous flankers including Flowerbomb Nectar, Flowerbomb Midnight and Flowerbomb Ruby Orchid.

In 2009, they launched Spicebomb, a masculine counterpart to Flowerbomb. This oriental spicy fragrance features notes of bergamot, grapefruit, cinnamon, saffron, leather and tobacco. Like Flowerbomb, its grenade-shaped bottle became instantly recognisable. Popular flankers include Spicebomb Extreme and Spicebomb Night Vision.

Other successful launches include Bonbon (2014), a caramel-focused gourmand fragrance in a bow-shaped bottle, and Good Fortune (2022), a modern oriental featuring gentiana flower and vanilla, fronted by FKA Twigs.

The brand’s most recent major launch is Flowerbomb Ruby Orchid (2021), which emphasises the original’s floral notes with added vanilla bourbon and red orchid accord.

Viktor & Rolf’s fragrances are now produced under licence by L’Oréal, who acquired the rights in 2005. The brand is known for its artistic, conceptual approach to both fashion and fragrance, often incorporating surreal elements into their designs and marketing.
